Getting to Peaceful Cabin

You will need a car!

An important note when planning your journey:
Our Peaceful Cabin is idyllically located in rural Fagered. To explore the surrounding area flexibly, having your own car is really an advantage.
If you are travelling to Sweden by train or plane, renting a car would also be an option.

It is also possible to get there and stay without a car, but this is more for people who really enjoy walking long-distances and are really fit – or want to become very fit 😉
You have to enjoy walking long and sometimes hilly distances. Of course, we could also arrange to take you with us grocerie-shopping, for example, if you come without your own car.

All information here is based on our personal travel experiences and is provided without guarantee! You should, of course, check all prices and journey / flight times etc. yourself to ensure they are up to date.

Various ways of getting here

Travelling entirely by car

Tip for the Øresund Bridge: If you are travelling the entire route or part of it by car across the bridges, the ØresundGO subscription is worthwhile from the second trip onwards (i.e. even for a single return trip). It is cheaper than paying the bridge toll on site. It also allows you to cross the bridge more quickly, without waiting times, because your number plate is scanned automatically.

Arriving by car and ferry

Many guests arrive by car and combine their journey with a ferry crossing to Sweden.

There are various options for travelling by ferry. Here is a selection (please also check the respective websites):

  • Kiel – Gothenburg
  • Rostock / Sassnitz – Trelleborg
  • Puttgarden – Rødby, then continue via the Öresund Bridge to Malmö
Arriving by plane

You can also fly to Gothenburg Landvetter –
from there, it’s only 1.5 hours by car to reach us.

Travelling by train and bus

You can travel by train to Varberg Station (train station), for example. From there, you can take a bus to Ullared.
In Ullared, you then change to another bus to get to the next bus stop at Peaceful Cabin. (However, it is still 5 km away from us!)
The nearest bus stop to Peaceful Cabin (5 km away) is called Fagered Örbovallen (Falkenberg), 31162 Ullared.
If you do not want to/are unable to walk the distance, we can pick you up at the bus stop by arrangement.
Here you can find your route from Varberg Station with specific times: https://resrobot.se/  (>> click on ‘Reseplanerare’ there.

We haven’t travelled on night trains ourselves yet, but perhaps this is an option for you. From April 2026, there will be a new night train to Malmö, for example: https://www.sbb.ch/de/freizeit-ferien/ideen/angebot.html/staedtereisen/malmoe

Our personal favourite: the night ferry

What we like to do – because we find it best for us and our dogs:
We really enjoy travelling on the night ferry between Travemünde (Lübeck) and Malmö (with Finnlines). We find it very pleasant to sleep on the night ferry and continue part of the journey that way.
This means that (when travelling from Germany) you only have to drive to Lübeck (Travemünde harbour) and check in for the ferry at around 9 p.m. Then you can sleep in your own cabin (with a small private bathroom) and the next morning at around 7 a.m. you only have to drive 2.5 hours to get to us. We think the trip is great with dogs. There are extra cabins where dogs are allowed to travel.

– If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!

– Please note: If you are a light sleeper, you should pack earplugs, as the ferry makes noise at night.

Whether you arrive by car, ferry or plane: The journey through the beautiful landscape of southern Sweden is the first part of your holiday!
